Remember when the kids were little and they went to bed, like at a bed time?

Sometimes you’d sneak out to the video store and get us a movie, stop by Dairy Queen and get us a blizzard to share. By the time you got home, I was usually done settling everyone in, nursing the baby to sleep, ready to chill. We’d sit next to each other, hold hands, snuggle up.

Am I remembering this right? Video stores and ice cream?

It was so cozy then.
It was true then.
It was real love then.
Right?

Video stores are gone
and love is too
So it’s hard
to trust my memory
